1. Eligibility: All submissions must feature original reggae or dancehall music. Entries must have been released within the past year to be eligible for consideration.
2. Categories: Artists can submit entries in multiple categories (e.g., Best Reggae Artist, Best Dancehall Single, Best New Artist, etc.). However, each submission must be accompanied by its own form.
3. Format: Submissions must include high-quality audio or video links to the work (e.g., streaming platforms or downloadable formats like MP3, WAV, or video files). Physical submissions are not accepted.
4. Accuracy: Ensure that all submission details, including artist names, song titles, release dates, and category selections, are correct. Incorrect or incomplete submissions may be disqualified.
5. Originality: All submitted material must be original and not contain unauthorized samples or infringements on other works. Any disputes related to copyright will result in disqualification.
6. Submission Limit: Each artist or representative may submit unlimited entries per category.
7. Submission Fee: There may be a nominal submission fee to cover processing costs. Please check the form for details on fee structure and payment methods.
8. Deadlines: All submissions must be received by the stated deadline of October 31, to be eligible for consideration. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances. We reserve the right to change or adjust the stated deadline or closing date of submissions for any given award year.
9. Representation: If an artist is submitting on behalf of a group, management, or label, the submitter must have full authority to represent the artist/group.
10. Judging: All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals. Finalists and winners are selected based on a combination of artistic merit, impact, and fan engagement. Members of the voting body will receive notices, instructions and link(s) to electronic voting ballots.
All submission fees are non-refundable. Reggae Dancehall Awards does not give any type of feedback or critiques on submissions.
By submitting audio material it is understood that if nominated, a short version of the submission may appear within the main event as part of its overall production for promotional purposes only.
All links and media submitted to Reggae Dancehall Awards are kept confidential, secure and never shared with third parties.
All submissions will be verified by using various online resources including IMDB.com
Be sure to double check the accuracy of the information in the form as it is used to contact you in case of a nomination, the need for additional information and or an award victory.
Some categories may not have multiple nominees. Winners and Nominees in some or all categories can be pre-selected, while the main simulcast, in some instances, is pre-recorded or pre-produced. The award presentation is an annual virtual only event.
Audio Submissions should clearly specify "Written by" and "Performed by." Keep in mind that the information should be the same as it appears in the song's public registry.
Submissions are reviewed for accuracy and qualification by the Reggae Dancehall Awards selection team.
Nominations are gathered and voted on by the Reggae Dancehall Awardsvoting team.
At the discretion of Reggae Dancehall Awards, submissions may be reassigned to a different category other than that which was chosen with the original submission.
Reggae Dancehall Awards reserves the right to change, add, remove, repurpose, or combine categories when approprieate, suitable or warranted.
If Reggae Dancehall Awards is unable to review a submission because of defective, incorrect or non-working links, the song will not be considered for nomination.
Song release eligibility is from January 1st to December 31st of the current year.
